August 7th marks a very special day for all friends - it's a day marked to celebrate the unique bond of friendship.

Need to share news, need advice or need someone to just be silly with, one of the first people we turn to are always our friends. This lead BollyCurry to think, what better way to celebrate this day than to bring you some of the best friendship movies of Bollywood!

So without further ado, here is BollyCurry's top 10 friendship movies, with one being our favorite!

10. Dosti - Friends Forever - Bobby Deol and Akshay Kumar come together in this emotional drama, portraying friendship in a very heartfelt way. The movie depicts what the word friend means and the extent one can go to fulfill the promises made to your best buddy. The underlying message of the film - friendship has no boundaries, not even death can change a true friendship. It lives on forever!

9. Rang De Basanti - They beat each other up, kick each others butts, argue to no end and leave no stone unturned in making fun of eachother but still are ready to go to the end of the world and back for one another and their friendship. Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor and Siddharth sincerely touched our hearts with their sincerity!

8. Rock On! - Starring Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny, this rocky movie brings together four best friends through the medium of music and the hurdles of trust issues they pass to prove they have no other's best interest in hearts other than each others.

7. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar take us on an endearing journey as they step into a new phase in life. They movie subtly teaches us that life only gives us one chance so don't think twice before taking it. So let go of your fear and live life in each moment!

6. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - Starring two of Bollywood's favorite actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, this super-hit movie took the cuteness of friendship to a whole new level due to the off-screen bonding of the two actors. Being the best of friends off-screen, their relationship was reflected on their chemistry on-screen...and the whole world!

5. Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na - Debut movie of actor Imran Khan, and giving him as well as his co-star Genelia Dsouza a platform in the industry, this story revolves around two friends, who through many trials and tribulations, find love in their friendship.

4. Dostana - Number three on our list, this movie gives us friendship and love all in one. John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan go from a fake couple to frenemies to being the best of friends in this rib-tickling romantic comedy. Being the driving force behind this friendship, Priyanka Chopra also steals the heart of one and all with her glamorous look.

3. 3 idiots - The movie not only gives us the sweetness of friendship but also teaches us life lessons and educates us on serious issues that take place in the community today. Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi take us on a roller coaster ride as we cry and laugh, making us feel like we're watching our self and our friends on the screen.

2. Sholay - This legendary movie brought together two very versatile actors, Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, in a never-to-be-forgotten bond. Whenever friendship and camaraderie is mentioned, the Jai and Veeru dosti goes hand in hand...along with a renegade version of "Yeh Dosti"!

1. Dil Chahta Hai - Akshay Khanna, Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan stole our hearts and topped our chart in this coming of age story of three friends. This self discovery  movie showed us that it's not necessary for you to always be together with your friend at all times but when in need, your friend will always be the first one by your side.

That's our list, folks! Many other movies such as New York, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Golmaal , Munna Bhai etc. missed out on the list by an inch. So go ahead and tell us your favourite friendship movie, while BollyCurry wishes all of you and your friends a very happy Friendship Day!
