This February, when the air is fresh with blooming love, BollyCurry invites you reminisce through cherished times, reliving Bollywood's most romantic scenes.

And the Nominees are,

'Saawariya'

The climax scene in Saawariya where Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) and Sakhina (Sonam Kapoor) bid adieu combines melancholy and love in spirit. The dialogues well delivered, the unique feat accomplished by this scene lies in portraying sacrifice as not only a great virtue in love, but also as a possible realistic end to a saga. The manner in which Raj bids his love farewell not just states in words but in actions that mohabbat is in fact all about the happiness of your beloved. Not only does he leave Sakhina, but also makes her smile with his silly antics. Letting one go has to be the hardest task and Raj performs it blissfully.

'Vivaah'

A balcony scene under a starlit night sky reminds one of the immortal Romeo and Juliet; a similar set up in Vivaah kept the magic alive. Prem (Shahid Kapoor) and Poonam (Amrita Rao) are young adults who have only begun experiencing the feelings and fluttering of love. Poonam not only sneaks onto the terrace but also wears the necklace gifted by her fiance, a wordless gesture of her mutually shared sentiment. Prem wholly lives up to his name, with his heart-warming dialogues and adorable actions. The entire shot with a silver shinning full moon upon two people rendered restless in love is innocent and raw, and captivating. It makes love seem simple and uncomplicated, yet a web that weaves one endlessly within its bounds.

'Jodha Akbar'

'Yah Khuda', 'Subhan Allah', and many more beautiful expressions in the Udru based dialect of Moughul India adorn the script of this movie. Jalal-ud-Din Akbar (Hritik Roshan) leaves no words unspoken with which he could win the favors of his lawful wedded Rajput queen Jodha. In one such scene, the sword fight which ensues between the two royals, radiates sensuality in grace and erect poise. As the challenge progresses, Jalal one by one unbinds her head gear, covers her with jasmines, and corners her to the wall numerous times. The argument is over stubborn egos of the royals, neither ready to just give in without a rightful defeat - both in the sword fight, and in the alter matter that has brought them o disagreement.What is delivered to the viewer however, is a strong powerful love, befitting the era it depicts, zealous and enthralling in its own rights.

'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'

In one of the most electrifying scenes ever, and a daring one, one must admit given the year, the cinema and the audience it related to, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai saw King Khan romance his lady love Kajol with a sizzling dance in the rain. Trying to shelter themselves from the downpour, drives Rahul (SRK) and Anjali (Kajol) into a gazebo nearby. In quite the luring stance when Anjali shakes her tresses dry, Rahul gallantly gets on his knees and asks her for a dance. You can feel the radiating passion as both the characters drift around the gazebo. This scene heavily relies upon the association of rains with the sentiment of love among the youth. A winner at that, the scene has continued to remain among the most aped concepts by television and other projects in Bollywood thereafter.

'Fanaa'

In the unprecedented pairing of Aamir and Kajol, this movie carried the message of placing higher, love for one's country than one's beloved. The scene we talk of shows a fatal snow storm ravaging in he border area on Indian Kashmir one night when a soldier knocks upon Zunni's (Kajol) door. That man is none other than Rehaan (Aamir), the man she had fallen in love with as a blind girl in her twenties, and the man who had borne her, her only son - also named Rehaan. While Zunni had recovered her vision in an operation some years ago, she had also believed her husband to be deceased from the same day in some treacherous blasts in the national capital. During this fateful night however, in spending time with this self pronounced stranger (since Aamir keeps his identity from before a secret) dancing and enjoying herself, Zunni abruptly realizes that the man is in fact her husband, owing a primitive sense as in those who lack a basic sense. This scene is exceptionally strong in its portrayal and acting skill. In Rehan's arms dancing, cognizance has comes upon her in the full and at his confirmation of her doubts about his identity, there is an intense confrontation and re-confession of love.

'Saathiya'

Saathiya is not a typical happily ever after movie, even if that is the eventual end. Aditya (Vivek Oberoi) and Suhani (Rani Mukherji) go through multiple trials and tribulations prior to and post their wedded life. But when disaster strikes and Suhani gets hit in a car accident, Aditya, who has been searching for her the whole night, rushes to her side and pleads her to come back. Suhani, hearing his magical words, wakes up and spells for him the three magical words. That settles their personal issues and scores, putting which aside, they end up being happy and content in each others arms, valuing more than ever what the presence of the other in the life means. Love is not an easy ride, one has to deal with its intricacies; Aditya and Suhani undergo all those before finally coming through.

'Dil Toh Pagal Hai'

The particular scene we talk of from DTPH is an obvious pick; not just for us, but for several script writers in various cinema and television houses which have followed the trend in shooting similar scenes time and again. Just after common friend and colleague Jimmy's wedding where Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) give a best man's speech about love, destiny and meant-to-be pairs, Pooja/Maya (Madhuri) is expected to make a hasty exit for family matters. At this point in the film, the lady lead is engaged to Ajay (Akhshay Kumar) although the realization of a spark between herself and Rahul make it evident to her that the engagement is greatly a family favor on her part.

Before she can leave the wedding venue, Pooja misses her bangle and comes back in search of it, where Rahul holds her hand and leads her on to lose herself in the moment with a repetitive, passionately chanted '... aur pass'. The scene keeps one clinging to the edge of their seats, unblinking as far as possible.

While watching this, one is likely to secretly wish that every proposal were proclaimed in silence. It truly shows that love speaks its own language, and you can't help but give in.

'Mukaadar ka Sikander'

Who can forget the eternal romantic scene between the once allegedly illicit lovers? Indeed love is all about being with the one you love, but it's not always the case. And that's exactly what this scene makes us realize.

Sikandar (Amitabh Bachchan) arrives at Zohra's (Rekha) in the evening but she refuses to let him in. Sikandar demands entry, and when Zohra is unable to stop him she swallows a diamond and lets Sikandar in, only to die in his arms.

To die for the person who you love is also love.To keep quiet for the person who you love is also love. Only, an unfortunate love...

'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun'

This movie after it hit the halls in '94 brought a new meaning to family cinema. The scene we quote in our prime ten was as simple as the entire movie plot, but held a charm in its portrayal. Salman and Madhuri's young love, make a viewer's heart leap in emotion! Madhuri comes near the swimming pool, post the baby shower ceremony, strictly ladies only. The elegance and beauty in her blue sari look changed the Indian fashion statement for several years that followed. Salman in this rare moment of solemn solitude tries to convey his feelings indirectly and Madhuri gets the hint. A subtle unworded confession, and the best at that!

'Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam'

One wonders if it was the magic of their on screen chemistry in this movie, that had brought together Salman and Aish as a couple at one time. So real it was, and so thrilling!

As for their acting, it seemed a reflection of their personal emotions towards each other then.

The final scene in our nominations shows Sameer (Salman) and Nandini (Aishwariya) sitting on the terrace where Aish's grandma tells them her love story. Sameer unfairly gains the chance to romance with her since the grandma can not see in the dark.

It is a passionate and romantic scene, and Salman and Aish looks extremely gorgeous together.
