After enjoying the success of Yeh Bhi Who Bhi and Gaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Karan Oberoi’s A Band of Boys is all set to come up with their new album Ghanta – the bell. Karan speaks about his new album and also shares with us his future plans as a television and film producer.

Q. Why such unusual name Ghanta-the bell?
A. Because it has unusual songs. Actually, through this album, we are trying to say how corruption exists in every strata of life. There is corruption everywhere, be it politics, romance or domestic life. So we are trying to touch every corner by this album.

Q. What kind of reviews have you got till now?Karan Oberoi
A. Till now we have performed everywhere, in colleges etc, and, touchwood, we have been appreciated hugely for our song.

Q. Who is the prankiest in your band?
A. Chintu is a big time prankster. He has very clever wit and throws sharp things on us.

Q. Tell us about other songs and music in this album.
A. We have compilations of our various songs. And music is done completely by us.

Q. Isn’t it difficult when so many talented people work together, like your Band of Boys?
A. It’s chaos. One should see us while making songs. Everyone in our group has his opinion, so we argue a lot. But what is good in the end is that the song has to pass through each one’s consent.

Q. Do you guys rock behind the camera too or it’s just professional?
A. We are great friends and it can be seen in any of our work. We guys have so much fun off stage and I think this is the USP of band of boys. The only thing is that there is nothing fake in our band.

Q. Any new show you are coming up with?
A. I am producing a show in collaboration with Fireworks. The show called Hadsa will be aired on Zee TV. It is an action flick and I am also acting in it.

Q. Any plan for films?
A. I am going to get into film production also. Talks are on for the same.

Q. What is next in ‘Band of Boys’ diary?
A. Everyone learn from mistakes. What band of boys has learnt is that we will not make a gap now. We will come up with our new album in few months time. We won’t give any excuse to our listeners to forget us.

Q. Are you following IPL and whom you supporting?
A. Yes I do follow. Whenever I get time I watch matches. I have always supported underdogs which is why I am cheering for Rajasthan Royals.

Q. Any plan of getting married in the near future?
A. Nothing right now. I have my hands, my legs in different parts so it’s nearly impossible for me to even think about marriage at this point of time. Marriage is on waiting list right now.
