This week, we've shone the spotlight on our Lucky Abhay Deol!

The strapping young lad was born on March 15, 1976 to Ajit Deol, the younger brother of Dharmendra, which makes him a cousin to Sunny, Bobby and Esha Deol! He's from Mumbai, India and has quite a strong family presence in the film industry.

Abhay made his debut into Bollywood through his 2005 film Socha Na Tha. Then came his second film in 2006, Ahista Ahista.

With 2007, came the release of his first major box-office success in the form of multi-starrer Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.

Along with that his third film of that year, Manorama Six Feet Under, won the Best Film at the Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival in New York City and also earned him the Best Actor award for his role in the film.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye was yet another hit film of Abhay's that released in 2008.

The lad even received 5 out of 5 stars from Times Of India for his film Dev.D, where he enacted the role of Devdas but with a more modern twist.

His most recent release Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara alongside Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar is doing quite well at the B.O. and garnering him much applause from audiences and critics alike!

It's somehow hard to believe that he's getting more popular nowadays, esp. after ZMND. I got to know abt him just after Aisha and immediately warmed upto him, but somehow didn't imagine him going this far (in terms of popularity). I think he's not the best actor nor is he an exceptionally good looker but with scripts that are right for him...his presence/work lifts the movie as a whole.

great actor actually he is exceptional, in every film he is in he brings a freashness and a naturalness to his performance bt most importantly thank god he doesnt try to copy any of his senior actors in the industry lik some of the other actors of his generation do. love u Abhay
