Bollywood Actors Celebrating Friendship Day

Family is really important to all of us. We all are very close to our parents and sometimes to our siblings as well. But they cannot be with us all the time. When we are alone and are feeling low we need someone to be there for us, someone who knows us and understands us more than we understand ourselves. This is when friends come into the picture. Friends know us inside out. They fight with us but are the only ones who understand us, no matter what the situation is. They spend countless nights making plans on how to play the perfect prank on us but are only ones who fight for us when someone else picks on us. Friends share a very special sweet and sour relationship. And to celebrate this very special bond friendship day is celebrated all over the world on the first Sunday of August every year. But what exactly does the word friend mean? Every one of us has a different definition or meaning of this word. To some friends are their best secret keepers while for others they are their partners in crime. Some consider friends more important than family and some regard friends as their second family. When we posed the same question to a couple of our Bollywood stars, this is what they said:

Basically being there with you in each and every moment of your life... its the good times or the bad times... Unconditionally! That's what a true friend is!

Do you celebrate friendship day and what are your plans for this year?

I have a very selected group of friends. I personally don't believe in friendship day, mother's day or father's day. I feel like these things have been created by the card companies to increase revenue. So no I don't celebrate these days. (not doing anything this year either).


Manjaree Faddnis:

What does friendship mean to you?

I think friends are like family to me because I stay away from my family. I am staying in Mumbai so my friends are like my family.

Do you celebrate friendship day and what are your plans for this year?

Nothing special. We used to just meet up and go out together. This time all my friends are busy. Some are busy shooting in London. I am shooting for my film. So we are all in different places right now.

What does friendship mean to you?

I think friends are very important in one's life because they are the source of energy and they are the people who you share your happiness, sorrows with.

Do you celebrate friendship day and what are your plans for this year?

I don't have many friends but I have a few friends whom I am very close to. I have very selected friends. We all go out. I think friendship is something that you don't need a friendship day for. Every day is a friendship day for me. This year I am working that day and I am going to be away from India, where all my friends are. So I'll be making new friends on the new set.

Very few people are blessed who are genuine and real..and will be there for you no matter what. Friends are really a special gift that God gives us. We should always stand by our friends and support them in every walk of life. It should not matter to us if our friends ever forget us but should always remember them and make them realize how important they are for us and what place they hold in our life.
