Bhandarkar furious over Gowariker's comment

The director of prominent films like 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3', 'Corporate' and 'Fashion', Madhur Bhandakar is fuming over Ashutosh Gowariker's comment about Priyanka Chopra's abilities. Piggy Chops, who has bagged most of the 'Best Actress' awards for her marvellous performance in 'Fashion'

throught the year also collected the coveted IIFA award.

According to Gowariker, Priyanka was not the correct choice for the 'Best Actress' award when Aishwarya was nominated in the same category.

When Gowariker went to receive the 'Best Director' honour for 'Jodha Akbar' he stated, "Priyanka I Love You, but I don't know how you got the award for Best Actress when Aishwarya was also nominated in the same category for 'Jodhaa Akbar'." Priyanka did not make a big issue out of this statement at that time, but Madhur Bhandarkar was surely enraged.

Bhandarker expressed his disapproval of Gowariker's impolite and unnecessary comment. Buzz has it that Priyanka did not attend the IIFA after party as she was quite shocked and visiably upset with the comment. The contradiction comes here;Priyanka Chopra is currently working with Gowariker and ex-flame, Hurman Baweja on 'What's Your Raashee?'.

After receiving the 'Best Actress' award throughout the year for 'Fashion', Priyanka is under immense pressure for her performance in 'What's Your Raashee?'. Infact the stunning beauty has stated it is the toughest role in her entire career. Piggy Chops will essay twelve parts in the movie. However, Chopra proves to be quite professional. She didn't let the past relationship between her and Hurman affect their chemistry in the movie and we're quite sure the same will happen with Gowariker.

'What's Your Raashee?' is expected to his floors in September.

Also might we add, Ashu please stear clear from all controversies..especially involving award shows, you've had enough of them this year hav'nt you. It wont be long before people start perceiving you as the 'uptight' director rather than acknowleding you for your movies.

That was inappropriate. Wasn't he the one who was upset last time saying people have to be respectful to the artist as award show is to recognize them.Now how about him being disrespectful to Priyanka?

Whatever his opinion is he shouldn't have expressed it after Priyanka got the award.Thats rude.And she got best actress award for other award functions too, judged by different people.

Pesonally I think Priyaka did excellent job in Fashion.She deserved best actress award.

Piggy chops did an awesome job in Fashion, she was not the typical romnatic heroine which showed of her imense acting ability and she was the only "big name" in the movie and cariied her self and the movie to becoming such a hit!!!

@maxliz: I agree with you, I can't get mad at the man who made Lagaan and Swades, but I just can't understand how JA was such a hit....I ddin't even feel motivated to watch it in the theatres though i love period dramas...for that matter I still havent understood why Ash gets all these awards when there are clearly far better actresses around....but what you mentioned about political clout makes a lot of sense ;)

I don;t knw wat exactly he is thinking while making such stupid comments. Aishwarya was gud in JS but Priyanka was fantastic in Fashion. This guys is seriously trying to get some attention by making such stupid comments.

There are less words to describe her. she is an amazing star. Gowariker has a habit of saying something bad in awards!!!! He got over excited that Jodhaa Akbar got so many awards!!! He started to think that he is the best and his movies are best!! But guess what?? I don't think so!!!Last time he said something to Farah and Sajid Khan And now poor Priyanka. I am really glad that Priyanka didn't say anything back to him. Stupid Gowariker...... ruined Priyanka's night in IIFA!!!!!!!!!!!!
