'Stree' is all set for its second innings!

While 'Stree' ends on an open-ended plot, the filmmakers Dinesh Vijan, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, have come up with a surprise for the audience. The actors Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao who play the lead characters would also be seen together in theaters by the end of 2019.   

The film garnered huge appreciation from fans, the film producer Dinesh Vijan says, "The film's last two shots actually set up the sequel. When you watch the movie, you will understand that we intentionally had an open ending. Stree 2 will start off from there and explain those shots. We have written it as a franchise, so there will be a sequel. We are happy that the confidence in the content has paid off."

However, along with positive reviews, the film earned Rs 17.69 crore in two days. With 'Stree' doing well in theatres, the producers are ready to kick-start the second installment's from the story left off.

Dinesh Vijan mentioned "Along with Shraddha's backstory, a few other pertinent questions will be answered in the second installment. The cast will be retained, but there will be new inclusions too. Predominantly, it will still be driven by Raj and Shraddha's characters."

"We hope to go on floors with Stree 2 by the end of 2019. And hopefully, in two years, we will be ready with it", he added.
