It's OFFICIAL!! Aishwarya and Abhishek to act together in Gulab Jamun

There is nothing better for an actor to share the screen space with their better half. The chemistry is natural and is very visible to the audience too. The one couple we were waiting for, to reunite on screen was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. They are one of the most loved couples both on and off screen. Recently, the news of Aishwarya working with Abhishek once again was doing the rounds. It was a rumor till the time we got to know it for real.

After a long long break, we now know for sure that the news was true. In a recent interview to  Mid-Day, Aish confirmed working with her hubby. She said, "AB [Abhishek] and I have agreed to do Gulab Jamun. I told AB that he needs to decide what he wants to do after Manmarziyan." Gulab Jamun is an idea incorporated in the mind of director Anurag Kashyap and he wanted to take it up with her and Abhishek. 

Talking about the movie, she said that the offer opened for her a year and a half ago. "We had agreed on the idea then. However, it was around the same time that AB decided to take a time-out. After the hiatus, he returned with Manmarziyan, which coincidentally is directed by Anurag Kashyap. That's when the chatter around Gulab Jamun began again, and we finally came on board. It is a beautiful script, and we fit the narrative perfectly," she excitedly said. 

Just like it's easy for two life partners to come on-screen and play their parts, it's a struggle to choose the right scripts. In her interview, she clearly stood her stance and said,"The script has to be interesting if a real-life couple is coming together. We have got many scripts, and at times, we got tempted too. But then, we discuss it out loud. We take stock and say, 'Does it excite us?' Why should marriage define our choices? Shouldn't we be actually approaching the story as individual actors?" 

It's just normal for a couple to think that their work together might limit their potential but it's great that this duo recognizes their talent and works accordingly. We wish AB and Aishwarya all the luck with their revival on screen. For more updates, stay tuned to India-forums.
