Ranbir Kapoor gets SUED for Rs 50 lakhs; lands in a LEGAL TROUBLE

Like we have often reported lately, Ranbir Kapoor is in the best phase of his acting career now. After a consecutive number of flop films, 'Sanju' came in as a sigh of relief for the actor. Now that the actor is back in the race, he has to face a legal trouble in his personal life.

According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, Ranbir Kapoor has got sued for a sum of Rs 50 lakhs and thus found him in a legal soup. The reports state that the actor has been sued by the tenant of his Pune residence. For those who are not aware, Kapoor back in the year 2016 had leased out his luxurious Apartment in Trump Towers, Pune.

Reportedly, now in 2018, the tenant has sued Ranbir for not abiding by the terms of the rental agreement. The report claims, "Sheetal Suryawanshi (tenant) has sought damages and interest for being evicted much before the lock-in period stated in the agreement. The lady has sued the actor for Rs 50.40 lakh along with interest of Rs 1.08 lakh, stating that her family suffered hardships due to the sudden eviction".

Sheetal in her statement revealed, "That in August 2017, 11 months after she moved in, she was asked to vacate the apartment though the lock-in period was stated as 24 months in the agreement. She alleged that the actor asked her to vacate the house stating that he wanted to shift in the apartment".

Contrary to Sheetal's allegations, Ranbir in his statement had a different story to tell. The report further suggests that Sheetal wasn't asked to vacate the flat; she did it on her own will. Kapoor has also produced a copy of the agreement which mentions the lock-in-period as 12 months. According to Ranbir, the tenant had failed to pay the rent for three months; hence the said amount was deducted from the deposit that she had paid.

"Plaintiff cannot unilaterally change, modify or interpret leave and license agreement to suit her convenience", Ranbir pointed.
