'Sarvvam' technically sound, but has a bad script (Tamil Film Review)

Film: 'Sarvvam'; Director: Vishnuvardhan; Cast: Arya, Trisha, Indrajeeth, J.D. Chakravarthy; Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja; Cinematography: Nirav Shah; Rating: * 1/2

'Sarvvam', which has a storyline borrowed from Hollywood, has more than its fair share of non-emotive actors in the forms of Arya and J.D. Chakravarthy. They compete with each other in sporting poker faces when the scenes need histrionics.

Fresh from his recent hit 'Billa' director Vishnuvardhan has concentrated more on visual techniques rather than depending on storytelling skills.

Software professional Karthick (Arya) woos paediatrician Sandhya (Trisha Krishnan) who keeps giving him repeated brush-offs in the backdrops of melodious numbers.

And then there is the sidetrack of mentally disturbed Easwar, played by J.D. Chakravarthy, who is affected by a car accident. He gives the heebie-jeebies to father-son-duo - Naushad (Indrajeeth) and Iman (Rohan)- as payback for his own son.

One wonders why did Indrajeeth with an enviable image and track record in Malayalam cinema have to shoot himself in the leg by doing this unconvincingly tortuous tale.

The movie's plus points are Trisha, terrific music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and excellent camera-work by Nirav Shah but the silly script and listless performances mar the film.

    Really?

Performance of movies in Tamilnadu are guided by collections in A B and C centers, and how multiplexes fare much more than by scripts or technical excellance. The Trisha Arya pair is new. Lets see the box office collections and then the review can be rated.
