Rajkumar Hirani EXPLAINS why he hasn't come up with third Munna Bhai

Rajkumar Hirani's directorial films Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai in the successful Munna Bhai franchise were a massive hit, making the fans waiting for the third instalment. But, now Hirani reveals why he still hasn't come up with the third instalment.

In a recent interview to Outlook Magazine, Rajkummar stated, "We wanted to do the third Munna Bhai film and even wrote a lot of it, but we were not able to match the script with the first two. Now, I have found something, though we still have to write it".

The first two instalments had fresh ideas and received all praises and love from the audience. No wonder we cannot wait for the third instalment and now looks like the wait is going to be longer!

Meanwhile, Hirani's much-awaited upcoming directorial 'Sanju', a biopic on Sanjay Dutt is soon going to hit the theatres in June. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, the film's teaser has garnered the team a decent number of appreciations.

But, amidst all this, one thing is confirmed that Rajkumar Hirani is surely working on the third instalment in the Munna Bhai series. A little sigh of relief, indeed!

The director also had expressed about the success of his two films, he had shared, "We were all new and naive at the time. While we were filming Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., we didn't think we were doing some kind of mainstream cinema. I only knew that I was doing a different kind of cinema. More than its commercial success, it fetched us a lot of love and affection from people. I was happy that my family and friends saw it. That joy itself was enough. Never in my life had I thought of anything like this".
