Varun to make time for Sonam's wedding from the shoot of 'Kalank'

Just a few days back, the Kapoor family released a statement that Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are set to tie the knot on May 8, 2018.

The statement read, "From the Kapoor & Ahuja families, The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives. Thanks & Regards."

However, the Mehendi function is said to take place on May 7, and while the wedding ceremony is said to be held on the morning of May 8, a grand reception is also said to be hosted by the Kapoor and Ahuja family at The Leela.

The guest list for the wedding will include David Dhawan and his family who share a fond friendship with Anil Kapoor. Varun Dhawan is not only close to Sonam's cousin and actor Arjun Kapoor but is equally friendly with Sonam as well.

Currently, Varun is busy with the shoot of Karan Johar's Kalank which also stars Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Khemmu while the movie is being helmed by Abhishek Varman. Making time for Sonam's wedding, however, Varun has asked the makers of Kalank to let him off early on May 7 and 8, according to DNA. This means that Varun will very much be a part of Sonam and Anand's wedding festivities.
