I feel item numbers should be banned: Kangana Ranaut

It has been many years now that Kangana Ranaut has been a part of the film industry. She has time and again bashed the trollers and critics with her brilliant act in films and a strong opinion on things. However, the also has a firm decision on many things that she finds inappropriate. Having been working in the Bollywood for years now Kangana has never been a part of any item numbers Whereas, songs like Chikni Chameli, Halkat Jawani, Kajra Re, Sheila Ki Jawani, and the latest one Ek Do Teen has actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.

When asked the reason for not doing item songs Kangana revealed, "I don't do item numbers because there is nothing to be done in them. They are... they are obscene, they are at times unfair, most of them are sexist. What is there to be done in them? I personally feel they should be banned. I can't be a part of something which is so toxic to us, our society, our children. If tomorrow, you have a daughter, I have a daughter, would I want her to be called those names, objectified like that? I mean, there are children out there, we need to take responsibility for them."

She further spoke about the failure of films and in the career. " I think failure is inevitable. It is nothing to feel embarrassed about. You can tell that I am not embarrassed by my failure. Yeah, for that time it baffles you because you obviously don't understand why things are not falling into place. In some way, you feel entitled to things to fall into place. You are disappointed if it does not come together."

She added, " You can tell from my choices, you know, that I am... It can either make you extremely insecure or it can give you freedom. There's no middle ground. Either you can get very insecure about your place, of who you are, or it can just make you understand the dynamics, the relationship between you and the work you have acquired. For me, it has always been the latter because I have the habit of deconstructing things."
