Sanjay Dutt ops out from the film, "Blockbuster"

Last week it was reported that Sanjay Dutt has signed a musical comedy titled Blockbuster which will be directed by Ajay and Lovel Arora. The story will be written by duo Sajid-Farhad who previously worked on Dhamaal, Golmaal Returns and Housefull 2 scripts.

Now as per reports in a leading daily, Dutt has apparently opted out of the film. Talking about it, a source stated to the daily, "When Sanjay met another producer friend recently, he was overheard saying that the multi-starer comedy Bittu was planning, isn't happening anymore. He has opted out of Blockbuster and the film is on the backburner for now."

That's surprising as the movie was announced last week itself.

Earlier, talking about Blockbuster, Sanjay stated, "I have always loved doing comedy. It is the genre that makes me feel at home. The scale of Blockbuster is huge and multi-starers always connect well with audiences. I am really excited about working with Sandeep again."

Producer Sandeep Singh added, "It was my dream to make a comedy with Baba. There are few people who can make you laugh like he does. It's not just his timing that is perfect, it's the expressions he gives that are hilarious. Wonderful to be working with Ajay and Lovel who bring years of experience and creativity to Bollywood."

While, director duo Ajay & Lovel Arora said, "This is a huge opportunity for us. All the directors from Rajkumar Hirani to David Dhawan who have debuted with Sanjay have had fabulous success. We are very excited and even more so because it's Sanjay that we would be directing for our debut."
