Sridevi & Family WON'T RETURN Tonight: Fresh Updates from Dubai

Sridevi's body that was to reach India today, Monday is now further pushed till the family gets a clearance from the Dubai Public Prosecution team.

The reason for further delay is the fresh revelations from her autopsy reports.

As per fresh reports from the Dubai Forensic Department, the body of legendary Indian actress Sridevi that was held back for post-mortem, has now released the first reports that have stated the cause of her death as "accidental drowning" and not cardiac arrest.

The actress died in Dubai on Saturday night and there is still no clarity as to when her body will be released from UAE.

The reason for the delay that was stated by the officials as of Sunday, happens to be the paper work and final investigations.

The body could not be repatriated on Sunday as the final investigation reports from Dubai Police were not ready by late evening, officials dealing with the legal formalities told Gulf News on Sunday.

Now, we hear that the investigations and probe is on. The Public Prosecutor will be questioning the hotel staff. Boney Kapoor too will be probed and his statements will be recorded. Their cell phones has already been taken into custody and their call records are being examined.

Information that was given by the Officials on Sunday, February 25, 2018:

February 25, 2018: By 4:00 PM it was speculated that the Dubai authorities will release Sridevi's mortal remains and handover the body to the family members. But, by 5:45 PM, official sources confirmed that Sridevi would not be sent home today, i.e. Sunday.

They further assured the family that they will try their best to complete all the formalities by Monday.

Authorities in Dubai had been trying to assist Sridevi's family to send her remains to Mumbai at the earliest on Sunday.

As per the latest Update:

1) The approx departure time from Dubai will be 8:00 PM [9:30pm IST]

2) The Kapoor family and mortal remains of Sridevi should be in Mumbai by 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM approx. After which, they will straight away head for their family home.

3) 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM the near and dear ones will be paying respect to the Legendary actress at the Kapoor residence, Bhagya Bungalow, Versova, Andheri (west).

4) At around 1:00 PM approx the cremation ceremony will take place at Pawan Hans, Vile Parle

5) Sridevi's Chautha will take place on Tuesday, 27/2/2018 at the TBC.

All this while, the Kapoors received a great help from the Indian Consulate representatives who had been coordinating with Dubai Police and other authorities concerned.

Even after repeated attempts, the procedures could not be completed before the office hours in local departments in Dubai.

The postmortem and forensic investigation were conducted by a special team of officials from Dubai Police department.

"This will take time," an official source said around 4:15 PM.

A relative representing the family was allowed inside along with a representative of the Indian Consulate to talk to the officials at the mortuary of Dubai Police Headquarters.

As reported earlier, Bollywood's first female superstar succumbed to a massive heart attack on February 24, 2018 at around 11:30 PM after collapsing in a bathroom at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
