Diwali 2018: Be all set to witness a clash between Aamir & Akshay

Since the start of 2018, films clashing at the box office have become a common phenomenon. Moreover, films being postponed and preponed to avoid any clash at the box office have been in abundance.

It's also common in Bollywood that directors lock festive dates to release their film and one such film is 'Thugs of Hindostan' starring Aamir Khan in the lead. However, as per recent reports looks like Aamir's film will not have a solo release and will clash with Akshay Kumar and south superstar Rajinikanth starrer '2.0'.

A source told Bollywood Life, "The makers want to release '2.0' during Diwali, so they tried to discuss things with Aamir Khan as his movie 'Thugs of Hindostan' is scheduled to release on the same day. However, Aamir said a resounding no when they first approached him. The actor feels Diwali is the perfect time to release 'Thugs' and hence, he is holding on to the date".

But the source further informed Bollywood Life that Rajinikanth had intervened in this matter saying, "After Rajinikanth made a call, the talks have resumed and both Lyca productions and Aamir along with Yash Raj Films are figuring if something can be done".

Till now no dates have been locked for the release of 2.0. But, since Aamir is adamant to release his film during Diwali and even the makers of 2.0 wish to release their film on Diwali, looks like a mega clash is to be expected.

Earlier, 2.0 was slated to release on 27^th April but it was later announced that Rajini Sir's another movie Kaala Karikaalan is scheduled to release on that day.
