Padman Weekend Collection: Akshay's social - drama film mints 40 crore

Who would have thought that a film would openly talk about sanitary napkins, or precisely a social-drama film that lays importance on the menstrual hygiene of women would be shown on the big screens? This is 2018 where a film like Pad Man was released; that depicts the journey of a man who invented low-cost pads for the women of India.

R. Balki's social drama film 'Pad Man' released on 9^th February and collected 10.6 crores in the first day itself. Further, the film managed to earn 13.68 crores and 16.11 crore on the second and third day respectively. In total, this Akshay Kumar starrer film minted 40 crores in its opening weekend.

Pad Man had a solo release on Friday but will face competition from Sidharth Malhotra's 'Aiyaary' which releases on the coming Friday i.e. 16^th February.

Produced by Twinkle Khanna, Pad Man stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles.
