R. Madhavan reveals how challenging it was to shoot for 'Breathe'

It is safe to say that R. Madhavan has charmed everyone with his acting skills on the big screens and now the actor is all set to impress us yet again with his foray into the digital medium. Madhavan will be seen in Breathe, an Amazon original web series which is slated to release on 26^th January.

Before this, we sat for a candid chat with the actor where he revealed it all about his experience on working on his first web series.

In Breathe, Madhavan portrays the character of Danny Mascarenhas, a father who in order to save the life of his ill son makes some immoral choices. In this intriguing tale, Madhavan reveals that it was very challenging to portray this character.

The actor expressed, "It is easier if you have to do this for a 2-hour film because you have to keep in track only 120 minutes about what you are doing. So if you reach the peak of an emotion in the first half, then you know you can sustain it throughout. But in a web series, it has to be maintained over a period of 360 minutes which almost equals to four films. So all this was a big challenge which I never expected to be faced with when I accepted this web series".

Madhavan was asked if the online content will be able to take over cinema in future, to which he stated, "Online content is a different source of the entertainment medium. It is not going to be the only source; it is definitely not going to be the impactful source but it will surely be the biggest. The reason being you will never have any replacement for film stars. The film stars will always have that grandeur of being the glamorous and larger than life talent. And the digital medium involves a lot of involvement which is why I think it will be the largest medium".

Madhavan explains his character by saying this, 'What will you do in a situation where you have a choice to save somebody who is really close to you but you are restricted by laws and the social rules. Will you go ahead with what it takes to save him or will you stay quiet within the rules and let them die? That's the choice that my character has to make in this series'.
