Ranbir Kapoor had to DRINK ALCOHOL for shooting Channa Mereya

The first episode of STAR Plus' upcoming reality show, India's Next Superstars was shot with all the glitz and glamour, where Priyanka Chopra glorified the night with her presence.

Since the show boasts to give India its next Superstar, the topic of current superstars came to question, where Karan Johar mentioned about working with his favourite actor and Bollywood's heartthrob, Ranbir Kapoor.

While in conversation, Karan mentioned how the iconic song Channa Mereya was picturized with all the pain behind Ranbir's smiling face.

Apparently, when they started shooting for the song, Karan was not entire satisfied with Ranbir's performance in the song, where he thought he could do a much better job.

So he asked Mr Kapoor to down a few drinks and come back to do the scene. Hesitant to the idea of getting drunk while working, Ranbir initially refused to do it Karan's way.

But after a lot of pestering, he agreed to the terms where he will get drunk for the scene only if Karan does it too.

Both of them went along and had a few drinks and came back, where Karan directed the song when he was buzzed and Ranbir performed it in that state. To everyone's surprise, the song was shot in two takes and one can see the sheer brilliance in Ranbir's performance on screen in that song.
