New Delhi, March 5 (IANS) Reality show 'Indian Idol' has come to an end and curtains will soon come down on long-running soap 'Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan' too, leaving popular television actor and host Hussain Kuwajerwala temporarily out of work.

'I have no idea what I will be doing now. I don't have anything in hand. Most probably, I'll be looking at better shows and try and do something exciting and challenging. But I'm not sure what. I usually never plan anything in life,' Hussain told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

Hussain's association with the small screen dates back to 1998 when he started his career with 'Aashirwad'. He then went on to do serials like 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Krishna Arjun' and 'Kumkum'.

His popularity was on an all-time high when he won the second season of dance reality show 'Nach Baliye' with his wife Tina. Hosting reality shows like 'Kisme Kitna Hai Dum', 'Khullja Sim Sim 2', two seasons of 'Indian Idol' and 'Nach Baliye 3' made him a household name.

Now Hussain plans to enjoy time with his wife since he has no shows in hand. 'We are planning to go out and relax for sometime before something new comes up,' he said.

The actor, who essayed the role of Sumeet Wadhwa in 'Kumkum' for nearly seven years, is sad that the show is ending, but is also very satisfied with the way it turned out.

'Kumkum' has given all of us (cast and crew) a lot in life and at least I have no complaints. But I do feel sad that it is coming to an end because my association with it has been almost seven years. The show was a love story and the fact that we managed to keep the show alive for so long makes us very proud,' he said.

'The cast and technical team has been the same for so long and we have been consistent with our work - all in all I'm extremely satisfied that the show is ending on a good note.'

While Hussain has had a successful stint on TV, he doesn't rule out trying his luck in Bollywood.

'I am looking at the option definitely, but it isn't easy. I want to do good films and if I do get any, I would love to try my hand at it. I have been in the industry for long enough now, so getting into Bollywood is a matter of now or never for me,' he said.

The 30-plus actor says he is open to do all sorts of films as he doesn't want to be stereotyped.

'I don't want to limit myself to any genre or type of film. I have a broader perspective of looking at things and have kept myself open for everything. I don't draw limitations for myself. I never thought I could host a show but did it successfully,' he said.
