In this era of tough competition between movies being unique is need of the hour. Being unique not just means with respect to content and story line but also in its way of promotion.

Recently, we saw Drona coming out with e-cards while Ghajini inspired India's first 3D video game. After 'Ghajini' another movie to come out with its game is Dev D.

Anurag Kashyap's upcoming movie 'Dev D' is a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel Devdas and has inspired a mobile game. This game is made by Indiagames Ltd and has announced the launch of the mobile game today.

The mobile game of Dev D will be a reel-to-real life experience for the subscribers based on the protagonist Dev in the movie. Abhay Deol plays the role of Dev; movie is directed by Anurag Kashayap and stars new comers Mahi and Kalki.

The game is woven around the character of Dev in the movie who is completely let down by love and by life. Boozed and battered, Dev searches love in acquaintances, searches for company. The game is based on an episode after Dev and Chanda have split after the ego rush that Dev had.

"Youth forms the key audience for a movie like Dev D. It's a new age film with which we have explored many new facets, gaming being one of them. While there were many episodes in the movie that lends itself into a game but this one was my personal favourite and the game around it looks brilliant. I am sure it would be a big hit with audiences as they get to live in the Dev character", says Anurag Kashyap

"Bollywood based games have always been great hit with the Indian mobile gamers. This has given producers a tremendous opportunity to extend the experience of the film to a user's mobile screen. After seeing stupendous success with latest games like Ghajini and Chandni Chowk to China we are pleased to launch a game around Dev D being youth oriented movie has a perfect extension in gaming by which Indian youth is today captivated. With creativity, interactivity and a very story oriented game play we are sure Dev D will be great hit with the audience" says Vishal Gondal CEO of Indiagames.

Heard of games based on action, mystery but having a game on such a genre will be interesting isn't it?
