Sonam Kapoor back with 'Dilli 6'

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor started their filmy career together in Bollywood. Both of them got a good launch with big banners like Red Chillies Entertainment and Sanjay Leela Bhansali respectively.

However, Deepika's 'Om Shanti Om' did well while Sonam's 'Saawariya' was a big flop show. After, this Deepika's career chart began to rise and she got signed for two big banner films ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno' and 'Chandni Chowk to China'. But, Sonam looked struggling. Her struggle came to an end with Rakeysh Mehra's 'Dilli 6'.

As known Sonam got many offers after her first flick but she refused for those as her role did not have much of relevance. With 'Dilli 6' actress has not only got an opportunity to play a lead role but also to work with an experienced actor like Abhishek Bachchan.

Dilli 6 is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's third directorial venture after the success of 'Rang De Basanti'. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi and Divya Dutta. Apart from them, Rishi Kapoor and Tanvi Azmi are also part of it. The movie is based on time of Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk.

Amitabh Bachchan has also been roped in for a small role where he will be seen playing grandfather to Abhishek while Waheeda Rehman plays his grandmother. Gulshan Grover plays the role of Abhishek’s father.

The film will go on the floors next year in month of February. Hopefully, this time Sonam need not have to compete with Deepika, for ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ is releasing on 16th January, 2009.
