Amitabh Bachchan" src="http://www.india-forums.com/bollywood/images/uploads/bachchan_msundrstud_1.jpg" align="right" border="" vspace="5" hspace="5">New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has said that the media misrepresented the remark on his blog about having slept with a gun under his pillow when the Mumbai terror attacks took place.
'It is a pity that the 'intellectual media' portrays the incident of the gun under my pillow as one of ridicule and mirth... Of one that reflects a fear on my part. It is a shame that the mettle of my comment was not put across in the context of its entirety, thereby bisecting the thought and making it weak,' Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com early Sunday.
The actor, 66, further wrote that his action of pulling out his '.32 revolver' was 'out of fear'.
'The act of pulling out my revolver is a symbolic metaphor, a figure of speech, to demonstrate my complete loss in faith in the system and in the governance, in providing me - a citizen of India, with my rightful sense of security,' he said.
'It is to demonstrate that now I shall have to personally look after my family and myself and not depend on the stateā¦that is just so miserably incapable of protecting its citizens,' the blog further read.

umm...u think he means losing faith in the politicians..the indian NSG,poilce and the armed forces were really brave..but i think maybe the politicians let ud down. I mean news has been pouring in right now that India was warned of the attacks...! not once but twice!! i dont know what the government was doing at that time!
Someone''s personal feeling! What to say! Well celebraties like AB should take some positive steps to improve our country''s situation! No point to blame to this & that....
Thanks for the article
hmmmm cant think of anything to say...
I agree that indian politics to some level (hell politics anywhere) can be dirty but to say that he''s lost all faith in the state and the system is SAD. So many jawans, officers and commandos lost their lives while saving the hostages. To lose faith in the system is to lose faith in those that fight for us everyday. Sry to say Big B but you''ve lost with words this time! Good luck sleeping with the gun!
With respect...
I would like to say a prominent figure like Mr B making a comment like this suprised me too...I have read his blog.
I would expect more sensitivity from him @ that time...specially when police, NSG''s,Commando, army and everyone had their lives at stake and so many lost their lives!!!
May be he didn''t mean it in a certain way...but Mr B..absolutely wrong timing..
Cool thanxz 4 the info!!!LoL

I meant current incident of Mumbai.
I personally think he''s overreacting. Compared to government of US, India was way better prepared. Sure mistakes happened, but retrospect it was understandable. That said, there have been many of many horrible incidents in India, I dont get why is complaining about just Mumbai.
