Mumbai, Sep 13 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has extended his support for the Global Citizen movement in India, says it was "a bit disturbing" for him to be part of the campaign with young stars like Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Farhan Akhtar.

The movement was formally announced on Monday here with Indian celebrities joining their forces for the campaign. Though Amitabh was disturbed after sharing the stage with young stars, he shared that it was a "rewarding" experience.

The 73-year-old expressed his views about the movement on his official blog.

He posted: "The future the present the carrying forward and the thrust of will to move this campaign forward centered around the youth and the young...which I might add was a bit disturbing for the aged ol'man, trying to hold his own amongst a stronghold of the young! But it was a rewarding experience and we shall be working toward its building and expanse."

He added: "Expanse? They talked about efforts that should be made for the future 15 years to come...which kind of excluded me from it altogether...15 years and if it is willed I should be well into what, 90 years...that is a tall order...90...it shall not happen this far."

The inaugural Global Citizen Festival India, to be held here on November 19, will be its first initiative, and will be headlined by Coldplay, Jay Z, Aamir, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, A.R. Rahman, Farhan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Arijit Singh, Dia Mirza, Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Monali Thakur.

Several major artists and international guests will be announced at different stages of the campaign.

The "Paa" star added: "Global citizenry beckons...the nature of the intent and its inception brings many of us on a common platform to work and ope to succeed in ridding poverty form India by 2030."

On the film front, the actor is awaiting release of Shoojit Sarkar's "Pink". The courtroom drama-thriller directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is written by Ritesh Shah and produced by Rashmi Sharma and Shoojit Sircar.
