Director Neeraj Panday, opens up about Sushant Singh Rajput and others

The teaser and the trailer of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has got overwhelming love from audience. From acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey, the film promises to trace the yet untold journey of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who rose from humble beginnings to become India's most successful cricket captain.

There has been a lot of positivity about how Neeraj has been spot on with the casting of this film. Neeraj Pandey shares about Sushant Singh Rajput, "Rare potential and potentially brilliant. We wanted an actor who could transform himself into MS. He has given it his best. He has pushed and burnt the envelope. He has worked tirelessly for 8 months to get into the skin of MS's character. The honesty of his labour shows in the film."

Here's what Neeraj said about Anupam Kher, "Anupamji is a walking, talking Institution. He can play anyone, anything. In this one he plays MS's father - Paan Singh Dhoni. His influence is the key to MS's life journey. Anupamji met MS's father, his family at MS's home. He spent time with them. It's always a great pleasure to work with him and his childlike enthusiasm both on and off sets is simply amazing."

On Disha Patani Neeraj he said that, "Disha plays a pivotal character in the early years of MS's life. Actually, we were looking for someone who is full of life and is extremely innocent. There had to be an unexplainable niceness to her. Disha simply ticked all the boxes right from the word go. She is a fantastic actor and her character's story will touch people's hearts."

Neeraj also shared his views on Kiara Advani, he shared, "Kiara is playing Sakshi Dhoni in the film and we were looking for someone who could play an extremely confident woman, someone who spoke her heart out and was genuine about her feelings and emotions. Kiara was superb during auditions and she has played her role. She is a very sharp, gifted performer and she is definitely going a very long way."

Helmed by director Neeraj Pandey, produced by Arun Pandey and Fox Star studios, the film which is one of the most anticipated films of the year is all set to release on September 30th, 2016.
