Fire at Eiffel Tower, attacks in France; B-town expresses shock

While the world was still sulking in the news of France attacks, there came another shocking news about fire breaking out at Eiffel Tower.

A video containing fire submerged footage of the Parisian landmark emerged at the same time when the city was battling the terror attacks in Nice, where up to 73 people were dead and 100 injured after a large truck drove onto a sidewalk where the crowd was gathered watching fireworks celebrating the French National Day, known as Bastille Day internationally, reports CNN.

However, the smokes fire that broke out at the tower was a co-incidence and not related to the terror attacks that were taking place around the city. It was the result of the Bastille Day fireworks display scheduled for Paris.

"Dear Nice residents, the driver of a truck appears to have caused tens of deaths. Stay for the moment in your homes," said Christian Estrosi, the head of the regional council of Provence-Alpes-Cte d'Azur, according to CNN.

Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Madhur Bhandarkar and Preity Zinta took to twitter to express shock and condemn the terror attack in Nice, France.

Akshay Kumar wrote, "Sad to wake up to the news of the Nice Attack! Heart breaking! I was there last year, beautiful place and people. Prayers for the families of the victims."

Madhur Bhandarkar expressed, "Sad to know about the Nice Attack. My prayers and heartfelt condolences to the victims and families of the terrible tragedy. Pray For Nice. RIP"

Preity zinta, "Omg ! Praying for everyone involved in the Nice Attack."

At least 80 people were killed on Thursday night when a large truck mowed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice. French President Francois Hollande said the truck attack was of a "terrorist character".
