Mumbai, March 31 (IANS) Designer Anand Kabra is one of the few names in the fashion industry who believes in doing things differently. Moving away from showcasing his designs through installations and shows in the past, this time, he transformed Level P6 Parking of St.Regis into a beautiful fashion experience during the opening day of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer-Resort 2016.

As soon as the lights came on, the models flaunted designs which reflected the designer's undeterred love for Indian embroidery. His collection focussed on party and bridal wear and there was a beautiful traditional touch in them.

The carefully chosen colour palette consisted of beige, maroon, midnight blue and gold. The USP of the collection was the copious use of traditional Indian embroidery, such as gota, aina, resham, zari and pitta.

The silhouettes that defined the collection consisted of lehengas, shararas, floor-length anarkalis, jackets and saris. A traditional rendition of the jumpsuit, crafted in a shade of midnight blue, teamed with a gold embroidered jacket, stood out distinctively.

Another high point of the show was the blue lehenga, which showcased the zari embroidery along the hemline. Teamed with a long metallic gold jacket, the ensemble was the ideal choice for a modern-day girl for her big day.

Kabra's designs are perfect for the New Age woman who does not shy away from experiment.

The five-day fashion extravaganza will continue till Sunday, here.
