After a gap of five years, a Sindhi film is set to hit theatres on September 14. Produced by Denmark-based M. Harwani and directed by Kamal D. Nathani, "Pyar Kare Dis: Feel the Power" is expected to be a shot in the arm for Sindhi cinema. In the span of 60 years since Independence, only 20 Sindhi movies have been released despite the community boasting a population of more than five crore the world over.

Pyaar Kare DisDirector Nathani is quite confident about the film: "If a Bhojpuri movie can recover its cost and run successfully in non-Bhojpuri speaking centers, why can't a Sindhi movie?" Harwani had earlier made "Pyar Ka Tarana" with Dev Anand.

A preview of the film at Film Division, New Delhi, was recently attended by dignitaries such as L.K. Advani and Ram Jhetmalani. Press meets to promote the film, shot in just 18 days, are scheduled at Amravati , Gandhidham, Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Jaipur.

Labeled a "family entertainer", the contemporary theme portrays the realities faced by the Sindhi community today. The story revolves around an NRI girl who returns to her native land to find love and happiness.

Bollywood actress Preeti Jhangiani has put in a special appearance in an item number which forms the climax of the movie. Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, Shaan, Roopkumar Rathod and Richa Sharma are some of the singers who have rendered the songs in the film. Jagjit Singh has sung a devotional song in Sindhi for the first time.
