Actor Anuj Sachdeva is all geared up for the release of his upcoming film 'Love Shagun' which will hit the theaters on 26th February, 2016. The actor who began his career as a model and then switching on to acting has finally succeeded in keeping his steps in Bollywood in a lead role. In a conversation with us, the actor reveals about his film and his perspective as an actor.

What character are you playing in this film?

I am playing the character of JD which is Jack Daniel but he doesn't drink at all. So he's a mumma's boy and a very simple character. He is into astrology, which is something that comes for mother inherently. I feel that people do believe in astrology to an extent which may be a little or even less but everyone wants' to know about their future. I've been connected to the soul of JD as I've been portrayed this character and that is all through my personal experience.

Tell us about your experience shooting for the film?

Experience was fun. The film is directed by Saandeshji who himself has been an actor. So he took care that it should not go as just as a formal shoot. Casting was also done in a way that every one seemed to suit in the character. While shooting, we were given the liberty to perform on our own and when you do your own thing then it gets well giving it a justification. I am sure that how much I am happy working with the director, he isn't that happy because I've questioned him so much about the character everyday and every time that he might be upset with me. But honestly speaking I loved the whole team work together. I thought that being the first debut film with production house things will be very dis organized it turned out to be a fantastic decision of mine that I accepted the film. My main focus is my performance. I don't know whether what reviews say but it's about how I perform. For instance, Rockstar movie didn't do well but people appreciated Ranbir Kapoor's performance. So, I want to go to that level where people appreciate that he has performed good.

What difference do you find between working for a TV and a film?

Television audience is all different, whereas film audience is different. In TV if you don't perform well in first place then you get next episode to perform. But in movie you have to justify your story in those 2.5 hours and where all other characters are also involved. You have to justify your character in that short span of time and I think that's the responsibility. Earlier there was a time when shootings used to take place for months, but today the shootings are wrapped up in 45 days. Also, earlier when movie used to run in theaters for 2-3 weeks then the film was considered to be a hit. But now, it is swept away in a week or few days.

So would you ever ho back to television show once again?

I will definitely go back to television and I am known through it. Earlier, there was a time when director's would not call you if you belong from TV industry stating that he would do that same repeated thing and would be artificial. But I believe that the time has come where we have Sushant Singh who has stepped from TV to films. So I think they have build up a bridge which is fantastic. I think I wanted to do this earlier but I didn't get a chance. You take an example of Hollywood, where many artists have started through and then went to films. But they didn't leave television and in case they get a good series they do it as well. So as long as I am getting work in TV, I will do it. Who am I to categorize or demean TV in front of films? In today's date directors from films have come to TV to make shows because TV is a big medium and I am known for my character as Amrit on TV for the show, 'Sabki Laadli Bebo' even out of India.  So, I won't ever demean my first love and first show. I am not popular as a superstar but if I am being known for my work then I have no issues with it. I have also worked in the film 'Hawaa Hawaai' where I had rejected a film with a lead role to work in a supporting role in Hawaa Hawai. I had been offered a lead film but I declined its proposal because the dates were clashing. Usually, no one does it but I had a dream to work with Amol sir (Director Amol Gupte). He had met me in a meeting and said that I have done a fantastic job and wanted me to do a role in his film. So, I was up for it and had decided that even if I have just four scenes, I would perform so lively that people would remember me for just those four scenes. That was my target which I achieved and people liked it. So when Saandeshji watched it he loved it and understood my work. My genre was limited earlier to audience as a romantic character. I have even done advertisements opposite to Deepika and Sunny Leone

Would you do a reality show ever if offered?

A: Yes, it depends and that I can do a reality show and would not be a problem. I've been called for Bigg Boss earlier also since past 3 years but I was busy and didn't go as such. I am open to work normally s for me I am supposed to work and that am what I have in my mind as long I have a qualitative work to do.

We see that you've undergone a look change in this film, so what's your take on that?

On the day 1, when I was given my clothes I was surprised as it was appeared so common and I was surprised that how strange I would look in this common man clothes. It was all simple looking but then I realized that it's actually the character. Because you know you think that I am not looking good with an oily hair having a nerdy look though is a good person by heart. So, I absorbed it totally from its walking style to everything. It was necessary for me to go through the minute detailing to adopt the character well. So with our creative producer, Vishwanathan Chatterjee I had done classes initially and it helped me to learn on the character and how it should be. So it was difficult and initially it took time for me to absorb it.

What expectations do you have from Love Shagun?

A: No, I don't expect anything from my film and instead I myself am over critical about my film. So, I think that if it's happened that it can be better than this and that desire always stays.  So the effort that a person puts in giving his input makes his do a little more which justifies that you want to do better ahead. You must have an intention of not loosing and that intention is what I have. So watching my own TV show or a movie, I'll be over critical about me. The audience will be more critical about me but it  I am sure that if a person spends his rupee over  a film, it will show it's worth.
