Purab Kohli, who will be seen playing the character of 'Ibrahim Durani' in
Airlift in an exclusive interview with India-forums has revealed his experiences while shooting for the movie.
Purab said that it felt like you're stuck in a war zone!
He said, "The film, art direction, set and the whole scenario that Raja Menon created looked so realistic that, as an actor being on those sets it really feels like you are actully stuck in a war zone."
Explaining his role in the film he said that he plays character named Ibrahim Durrani, who works for a supermarket chain and is a middle class fellow and works in the Gulf. He is married and his wife is a nurse who has been called into duty at the war zone and then she goes missing. He is in constant search and is looking for her. In this search he comes across Ranjeet Katyal, who is trying to evacuate Indians out of Kuwait at that point of time and Ibrahim become the core member of his team trying help in the ground work and food supplies.
Airlift is based on a true story of Iraq-Quwait war. The film directed by Raja Menon stars
Akshay Kumar and
Nimrat Kaur in lead roles and is slated to release on 22nd January, 2016.
