Baahubali (602.40 Cr)

S.S. Rajamouli's fantasy-epic showed us what we can do if we put our heart and art into it. 'Baahubali' managed to suck audiences into never-never land. It also made Telugu star Prabhas suddenly much sought after in Bollywood. Rajamouli is the first cross-over director in Tollywood whose Telugu film made B-town sit up and gawk!

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (606.70 Cr)

Kabir Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' was an all-heart drama about simpleton Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, a noble Hanuman devotee, portrayed by Salman Khan and Munni, a little mute Pakistani-drifter played by Harshaali Malhotra, who won hearts with her innocence and expressions. The movie perhaps did more for Indo-Pak relations than what politicians from both sides of the border haven't done in 66 years.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (400 Cr)

'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', also colour-coded via the Ramayan, draws greatly from Sooraj Barjatya's previous works, with one glaring cosmetic difference: He sets it not in homes that people like you and me live in, or relate to, but in a grand palace. The movie had a lot of songs, mostly dance numbers. The gorgeous costumes added to the grandeur. The movie did well only because the 'Bhaijaan' of Bollywood donned his classic 'Prem' avatar!

Tanu weds Manu Returns (194.83 Cr)

Kanpur wali 'teekhi mirch' Tanu and Manu, the 'bheegi billi' from London, in 'Tanu Weds Manu', they met, sparred, and mated. In the sequel, they are still together, but the marriage has become more a rattle of guns than a bed of roses after four years. Tanu is back doing what she does best: rousing tempers, creating a ruckus, being a pest, meanwhil, Datto is the 'pixie-cut' sporty Haryanvi lass in tracks-and-tees, accompanied by a heavy Jatt accent, and heavy-set relatives. Kangana Ranaut steals the show by acing her portrayal of both the characters. Also Pappi Ji (Deepak Dobriyal) rocked his role as the  quintessential funny best friend of the docile 'hero' Manu aka R. Madhavan.

ABCD 2 (100 Cr)

The sequel to the 2013 dance movie 'ABCD'  saw Shraddha Kapoor showcasing yet another talent as a dancer. Varun Dhawan slipped into the the typical 'heart-of-gold tapori' avatar who brought together a crew of talented dancers to participate in an international hip-hop competition. Prabhu Dheva played his splendid encouraging choreographer part!

Piku (111.8 Cr)

The most surprising hit of 2015 was the scatological neo-classic of Hindi cinema. Amitabh Bachchan played "Bhadra Lok' obsessed with his bowel movement. Deepika Padukone was his harassed daughter, while Irrfan Khan was the guy driving the father daughter duo to Kolkata to settle a property dispute. Shoojit Sircar is a man who works wonders with bodily fluids.

Dil Dhadakne Do (114.72 Cr)

High society hijinks on the high seas - this in short is what DDD comes off to primarily even if there are straining-for-depth strands in it; of creeping middle age and dwindling love, of gender imbalance caused by dominant males and the making of submissive women, of lineage, privilege and position, and of life lessons from the wisest of them all, a pet dog named Pluto! Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah bring a real sting to their interactions with the spikiness in their relationship unravelling effectively. Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma are better in their roles than the parts written for them.

Baby (105.68 Cr)

Akshay Kumar gave one of the year's best performances in this super-intelligent take on the counter-terror intelligence. Rigorously researched and riveting, the narrative combined a documentary-style with pure Bollywood-entertainment format. 'Baby' may have deserved more success than it actually got.

Singh is Bling (90.25 Cr)

There are two questions that need answers, after you've watched 'Singh is Bliing'  what the hell does Akshay Kumar eat for breakfast to fuel the insane energy he brings onscreen and where was Lara Dutta hiding her comedic talent all these years? We see a delirious Akshay Kumar cracking out bhangra moves with such gusto that you might just feel your muscles ache on his behalf. There's only one word to describe Kumar's performance as Raftaar Singh: octane. Lara Dutta is a revelation in Singh is Bliing. She looks great, even when she's wearing blindingly bad outfits, and milks comedy from practically every moment she has onscreen. Over-the-top moments that should make us cringe and groan become cute and giggle-worthy, simply because of Dutta's fine performance. There isn't much by way of a plot or storytelling in this film. It's essentially a set of well-written comic sketches, featuring recurring characters.

Brothers (82.47 Cr)

Brothers_movie_poster.jpg" alt="">

Karan Malhotra's Brothers is not 'Warrior'. It relies heavily on the formula-driven content. Having said that, Brothers still offers you some fantastic fight sequences and a matured Akshay Kumar. Thanks to Akshay Kumar's controlled aggression. He impresses with his understanding of 'emotional' action sequences. He is good at hand-to-hand combat and he is brilliant at displaying his eternal dissatisfaction with life. Easily the best of the lot. Sidharth Malhotra is against an uphill task because he'll be compared with Tom Hardy. He tries, but probably that won't be enough. You can also consider it a new film rather than a 'Warrior' remake and be happy about it.
