The City of Rewa Honours the legendary Raj Kapoor!

The showman of Hindi cinema, who changed the credentials of film making, the legendary Raj Kapoor is still remembered for his films which broke various cliches and revolutionized the way we see films.

According to a leading cine magazine edition of June 1946, "Raj Kapoor, the talented and versatile son of Prithviraj Kapoor, ended his career of wild oats by marrying Miss Krishna Khanna in the second week of May at Rewa".[sic]

As per reports in a leading daily, to celebrate and remember the legend on his 91st Birth Anniversary, Raj Kapoor's eldest son, actor Randhir Kapoor chose to visit the city of Rewa attending a bhoomi pooja.

An emotional and humbled Randhir Kapoor stated that he is the first Kapoor in over 70 years to visit the city. "The house where my parents got married is being converted into a 'Raj Kapoor' auditorium and cultural centre of arts."[sic]

On receiving such an honour for his father, he thanked the Madhya Pradesh government for this bestowment.

A witty Randhir Kapoor remarked on being asked how big the house was, that, "I haven't measured the dimensions".[sic]

We feel proud for this honour and wish the legend a very happy birthday. He is remembered in our hearts forever!
