After a mesmerizing performance in India's economic hub Mumbai, Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast" is gearing up to dazzle the national capital with its grandeur in the form of a Broadway musical, a concept which is new and refreshing and a must-watch for Indian audiences.

Disney India is bringing the timeless musical "Beauty and the Beast" to Delhi, after enthralling more than 27,000 fans in Mumbai.

"We really think it would be great for us that we will be able to bring a new format of entertainment. After assessing the success of the shows which took place in Mumbai and in Delhi in December, we may look at other cities as well," Disney India managing director Siddharth Roy Kapur">Siddharth Roy Kapur told IANS here.

The Broadway classic will retain the original script and memorable music it has had across 28 countries, while the production will be in English with a duration of 130 minutes.

The music will sound exactly the way people grew up listening to, and musician Leslie Lewis has made sure the Delhi audience will not miss it even for a second in this show either.

The press meet here gave a glimpse of what was in store from December 19 to 27.

With Belle and Beast possessing amazing vocal chords as one expects, the soundtrack which has been rendered by Pooja Sood, a sneak peek of which was given by the trio, left everyone starry eyed, raising expectations for the forthcoming event.

While the show has been choreographed by Terence Lewis, the set has been designed by Varsha Jain.

The elaborate costumes have been designed by Gavin Miguel, while hair and makeup will be taken care of by Pallavi Devika.

The artistes who shall essay Belle and Beast are none other than Indian actors -- Beast will be played by Edwin Joseph and Belle by Meher Mistry.

They have been trained for the vocal impact by Suzanne D'Mello.

Edwin, who was an Economic Hons. student, hailing from Delhi, said: "The experience till now has been gigantic. We underwent the complete process of training, we went through physical training as well. The exercise is important because you need to be able to pull off a 130-minute show."

"Meher has to run around so much during the show, she has to sing without panting. You have to be able to do it so well that it seems like trickery," he added.

With a trailer showing what the Delhi audiences should be expecting, the grandeur, the beauty of the humongous sets, and the effects people imagine only the West can give, the musical which will be presented at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex seems to be very promising and an experience one must have at least once in a lifetime.

Ticket sales for the 12 shows will start on Sunday.
