It was the perfect idea to get veteran actor Dharmendra Singh Deol to inaugurate a new restaurant, innovatively titled 'Garam Dharam, Dhaba Te Theka' here on Wednesday.

A first-of-its-kind outlet in Delhi's Connaught Place area, it takes inspiration from the movies, dialogues and songs of the 'He-Man' of Bollywood. The entrance, adorned by posters of the actor's films, itself gives a hint of what's in store.

Dharmendra is said to have shared his inputs for the look of the outlet, but he says it was not an easy thing to work on.

The 79-year-old, who looked suave in a shirt, trousers, a waistcoat and a hat, told IANS: "I was not ready to do it because I don't know the ABCD of this (restaurant) business.

"I can't do anything except acting. I'm a son of a farmer and my upbringing is like that only... but seeing all this love and support made me feel special."

He is sure foodies will love 'Garam Dharam, Dhaba Te Theka'.

"Everyone loves me so I am sure people will love this place too that has my vibes everywhere," he added, while seated in the midst of the over 4,000 sq ft space, which has been enlivened with 'filmy' elements involving Dharmendra.

Asked if he enjoys a 'dhaba' or at a restaurant, he said he loves using his hands to eat.

"I'm quite shy with all the dining etiquettes. I don't know how people enjoy with a fork and a knife. Till the time I can't use my hand, I can't enjoy food. I feel like slurping my fingers," he said.

Happy to look around at the wall which have some of his famous dialogues splashed all over the walls to his and his image.

According to the owners, the restaurant is apt for those who want the best 'dhaba' cuisine at affordable price.

"Garam Dharam is for all those people who just want the best at best prices. I'm sure we will get a lot of acceptance for Garam Dharam, as we are not compromising on any thing and ensure to give customers an experience to cherish.

"This is a place suitable for all age groups. It is a warm, cosy, and comfortable 'Dhaba Te Theka' style restaurant where each meal is a treasured time to relax and share a bounty of wonderful food with family and friends," said Tewari.

A meal for two would cost Rs.800 to Rs.1,000, exclusive of tax.
