Vidya Balan to play Indira Gandhi?

Manish Gupta who last directed Rahasya is now working on the biopic of Indira Gandhi. He has approached Vidya Balan, who apparently has loved the script, but is yet to give her final nod for it.

Since it is a biopic on a national figure a lot of research has gone into it and also a lot of precautions had to be taken while making it. The film will be a tell-all tale about Indira Gandhi - right from her birth to her assassination. It's the story of her childhood, youth, rise to power as the Prime Minister of India, her fall to near-oblivion, her comeback as PM, her final battle against extremists and her refusal to discriminate on the lines of faith, that eventually her assassination.

This one would be an interesting biopic to watch for sure. Vidya has also been approached to be a part of a biopic on MS Subbulaxmi.
