Salman Khan to pay the price for being a celebrity

The Court had relied upon judgments in Alistair Pereira case and Nikhil Nanda BMW case of Delhi while convicting Salman Khan

In Alistair Pereira case she got three years for the accident that killed seven people. Whereas, in Salman Khan's 2002 hit-and-run case he is convicted for five years of imprisonment.

Sophie Choudry was seen retweeting a post that read: I respect the law but @BeingSalmanKhan & his family have helped so many people & have the kindest heart. This hurts. God give them strength.

Designer Rohhit Verma said, "What a verdict indeed! All the way once again that the law is only for the celebrities through them a message can be conveyed, whereas we sit for years to seethe Nirbhaya case accused to be hanged, corrupt are moving unscrupulously everywhere and politicians are given high class treatment. The entire law and order has boiled down to punish Sallu Bhai. How fare is it?"

Is this judgement made due to Salman's star figure? Is he paying this high price for being a celebrity?
