Chennai, Oct 30 (IANS) Debutant filmmaker Kalyan says the children who play the lead roles in upcoming Tamil drama "Kadha Solla Porom", underwent a year's training for the characters they essay in the film.

"All these kids were facing the camera for the first time. Everything about cinema was new for them. Hence, we enrolled them into workshops for acting, singing and dubbing. It nearly took them a year. It was a long process, but it was very helpful," Kalyan told IANS.

He says the realistic performances of the children will sweep audiences off their feet.

"All those who've watched the film so far, have lauded the performances of the kids. They are so realistic in the film! I'm confident that audiences will be wowed by their acting," he said.

The film, Kalyan says, is more than just about the children in it.

"It shouldn't be labelled as a children's film because we've touched upon the family angle as well," he added.

The film features Naren, Vijayalakshmi, Kaali, Sivakumar and Charan Raj in important roles.
