An Emotional evening for Citylights Director Hansal Mehta!!

At a special industry screening for the much-awaited Rajkummar Rao & Patralekha starrer Citylights on Sunday, Mahesh Bhatt declared that a modern day film-maker who can carry forward the baton of independent cinema is none other than Hansal Mehta. The National-award winning director was moved when Mahesh Bhatt, who has made cult classics like Arth, Saaransh, Zakhm among many others and regarded as one of the finest film-makers to have come out of the country, compared Hansal to him and his work to the kind of films Bhatt had made. The film-maker also parted with his Saaransh award, a symbolic gesture to Hansal asking him to carry forward the efforts of breakout cinema.
