Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar, who played the adolescent version of Frieda Pinto in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire", is making her Tamil debut with romantic-thriller "Sandithen Unnai". Its director is impressed with the 18-year-old.

"I don't know if it's the effect of Danny Boyle or because she is a natural actor, but Tanvi is a treat to work with. Even though she has a language barrier, she doesn't allow it to come in between her work. She learnt her lines and mouths them with confidence," the film's director Nagamaneci, told IANS.

The director adds that she is a keen observer.

"Tanvi has a knack for making note of every smallest detail. You don't have to spoon-feed her because when you show what you want, she gives you exactly that," he added.

Queried why a south Indian was not cast for the role, Nagamaneci said: "I don't think nobody worries about all that nowadays because so many actors have crossed over to other industries and they have been accepted. I think what matters is whether an actor can play a particular role or not."

Also featuring debutants Kaushik Ram and Vettri, "Sandithen Unnai" is in its final leg of shooting.
