In the absence of good children's movies, the young ones are forced to watch sex and violence on the screen, complains director Nila Madhab Panda and adds that filmmakers do not treat them as kids.

Disappointed with the fact that there aren't enough films made for the little ones to sit back and enjoy, he told IANS: "There are no children's films nowadays. Actually, we don't treat a child as a kid. They are always treated as an adult. We are selfish people. We watch films like 'Delhi Belly' and 'Rowdy Rathore' with children."

"We make them watch the sex and violence in movies with us. With the lack of children's cinema, there is also a decrease in family movies. All this is disturbing the whole family entertainment system," added the 38-year-old.

He is known for making message-based children's films - "I Am Kalam" and "Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid" - and he roped in child artists for the same.
