Awards are important, says SRK

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won scores of awards and honours and is in the race for the best actor Filmfare trophy this year for "Don 2: The King Is Back". Yet, he feels awards are important.

"Awards are very important. Insha Allah, whichever film gets the award I will be very happy," Shah Rukh told reporters here at the Filmfare Awards nomination party Friday night.

He has been nominated for the award along with Ajay Devgn ("Singham"), Amitabh Bachchan ("Aarakshan"), Hrithik Roshan ("Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara"), Ranbir Kapoor ("Rockstar") and Salman Khan ("Bodyguard").

Last year, Shah Rukh bagged the best actor award for his work in 2010 film "My Name Is Khan".

Bollywood stars gathered at the nomination party of the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2011, to be held Jan 29 at Film City, Goregaon, here.

The stars present at the event included Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Asin Thottumkal, Anurag Kashyap, Juhi Chawla, Tusshar Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali.

Ranbir is confident about his performance in "Rockstar".

"It feels good I got an opportunity to work with Imtiaz Ali. We have made 'Rockstar' from the heart," he said.

    Well its so obvious tht either Shahrukh or Amitabh will get it because filmfare is a yash chopra event!and Yash Chopra loves Shahrukh!Every year they nominate him andd every year give him an award!its Sad!why not other actors! Never have they given Salman khan or Ajay Devgen! Always boring predictable Shahrukh!Evn thou Don2 didn't do as well as expected!and if shahrukh dosnt get best Actor they will make an award for him like 'best Speaker','best Clothes',etc!its sad.Because of these Shahrukh and Amitabh no one gets anything!at least Oscars and Golden Globe are real and give Everyone a chance,and not just Sucking these actors arses!!!!!!!!

    srk must be awarded for his hardwork and dedication to his films... he was amazing in Ra.one and Don2... Love him a lot... he is the best.

    SRK always needs awards to make himself feel good - is he not confident of himself and the roles he plays. If he does not win - he goes around criticises those that do - its worse when he is the MC - Rakesh Roshan had to stand up to him one year - remember the issue with Amithjhi etc. It will be better if SRK wins - it saves the other actors from being criticised for being better.
