Karan Johar, who has acquired the movie rights of Amish Tripathi's bestseller "The Immortals of Meluha", says he is yet to finalise the director for the big screen adaptation of the bestseller.
"People been asking about the 'Meluha' book... we are going to lock a director first... then start the screenplay work and then cast LORD SHIVA!" Johar posted on his Twitter page.
"The Immortals of Meluha" is the first in the Shiva trilogy series by Tripathi and it is the story of Shiva, a Tibetan refugee who is taken to Meluha as the king of Meluha believes in the legend that an outsider will be their saviour.

first i am so excited., and secondly regarding te director., please hire someone who could understand the flow and life of that book...for many its a story., for many its an epic...when i was reading the book unknowingly i imagined every fine details on it..so it needs a more of homework...cast and crew., my vote would be for a fresh casting ...do the talent hunt and give us fresh faces...

Wowo..that's a surprise?Meluha N Movie?
And its a big step..it's really difficult to put that book into a movie.
I liked the "The immortals of Meluha" N "Secret of Nagas"..waiting for the third series..i hope they do justice in making it in a movie ..already the book has created err?Kind of confilct in religious POV?
Anyways..good luck Mr.Johar..crossing fingers n looking forward.
Sri:-)
i'm glad johar is not lookin to direct it himself... but he certainly gets good directors for the films he produces... and i guess hrithik is the best candidate for shiva's role considering his built and his dancing abilities...
Wow... Looking forward to this! Loved the book still waiting for the sequel:(
I would love to see HR as shiva please:)
All the best Karan!
