Television baron Ekta Kapoor, known for making women-based soaps, clarifies that it is the story and not the protagonist that decides her choice of projects.

'I don't have any gender biased preferences... My whole idea is that if it is a nice enough story to be told, then it should be told. There is no choice that I will make my next on a woman again, but I will make a strong and smart story again,' Ekta told reporters at a press conference to celebrate the success of 'The Dirty Picture', which tells the story of an actress's rise and fall.

After making long-running successful saas-bahu soaps 'Kyunki...Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' and 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', she took a plunge into moviemaking and produced hit crime thriller 'Shootout At Lokhandwala', based on a real story, underworld saga 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai', and experimental 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha'.

Once again she is going back to her first love and said: 'This week I am going back to TV. There are many TV shows. The movie work is for next year now.'

For next year Ekta's production house Balaji Telefilms has an interesting line up of movies - 'Kya Super Kool Hai Hum', 'Rock The Shaadi', 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2' and 'Shootout at Wadala'.

Ekta has been producing TV serials since 1995 and her first serial 'Hum Paanch' was a super hit.

well it's not only Ekta shows that are very good at the beginning and then take 99 degrees in the middle but all other PH/Indian shows does.

so can we please stop blaming Ekta shows only.

every Indian shows turn crappy once they runs out of Ideas to keep the Viewers hook.

i really do like PKYEK, and I absolutely loved Kasamh se. Now she's just messing up PR. It used to be my fav, not anymore. Ekta, please make a really good serial again(not the same household ones, which are so predictable).

I doubt she's bias but Tv is a women's domain for stories and the Film is the men's
