No one could get dirtier than ''The Dirty Picture'': Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan has received rave reviews for her performance in 'The Dirty Picture' and, impressed by her dare-bare act, Kareena Kapoor is said to have given Madhur Bhandarkar the go-ahead to shoot scenes on similar lines for 'Heroine'.

But Vidya, 32, feels no one can cross the benchmark set by 'The Dirty Picture'.

'I think, no one could get dirtier than this. They can make a 'Heroine', but will not be able to make a 'Dirty Picture',' said Vidya who started her career in Bollywood with Pradeep Sarkar's 'Parineeta' in 2005.

She also says that she has never been in the race to become the number one heroine.

'I have never been part of the race and I am still standing by myself. I am just very, very happy that I have got the films that I have, especially 'The Dirty Picture' which for me is a huge landmark.

'I have had critical and commercial success before, but this is something different. 'The Dirty Picture' is a landmark in many, many ways and not just for me,' said the 33-year-old actress at a press conference to celebrate the success of the film.

Vidya's next films are 'Kahaani', directed by Sujoy Ghosh and Nikhil Advani-directed 'Chand Bhai' opposite Akshaye Khanna.

@roopalgupta Image is made in the mind of an individual..Hats off to Vidya for overcoming her inhibitions and being an actor to the core..Its really easy to play what u r similar to but more difficult to play a character that people can never identify u with..and that too so beautifully!

@roopalgupta - this is the media world. Challenge is a big word and that's how they win fans heart. No actor have good image, we only get to see what are shown, and no one is clean in that industry or so call the good image. Maybe you ought to do little research on this media industry and find out more.

Vidya as an actor did great job. Experimenting and that's what any actor should do. Understanding a character.

For bebo, well she is a amazing actor and have achieved great sussecc but to be honest she also don't have a good image if you taking about Vidya like that. Maybe you should see her every image and some extra work on her interview... And maybe little research and then compare her with Vidya, then come back and do tell us who is wars.

P.S. Do read the article properly as ur dear Bebo has suggested to "dare to bare" in her Heroine movie. If Vidya has ruined her image then what do u call ur dear Bebo???

@roopalgupta - If Vidya has ruined her image then what about kareena? Your Bebo has wore sleazy clothes in many of her movies, for example she wore bikini in Tashan and she played as a sex worker in Chameli. Talk about double standards.

Its the talent that counts and not the clothes. Both of them are talented actesses in their own ways.
