Shiney slaps notice to Micromax on 'Bai' commercial

Mumbai, Oct 24 Actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his domestic help, has sought legal action against Micramax Mobile for its recent commercial on maid servants that allegedly pokes fun at him, an aide said Monday.

Currently out on bail, Shiney has taken umbrage at the new ad by Micromax Mobile released this week in which two 'bais' (maids) allegedly poke fun at him.

According to his publicist, the advertisement -- said to have been made especially for the Diwali season -- has infuriated Shiney.

'Shiney has sent a legal notice to the mobile company as the advertisement amounts to willful character assassination,' his publicist Dale Bhagwagar told IANS.

Shiney was arrested June 2009 following charges of rape, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation levelled by his maid servant, and spent nearly five months in jail.

On March 30, he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by a Mumbai fast track court, which he challenged before the Bombay High Court.

'For the mobile company to air such a commercial influencing public opinion when Shiney's appeal is pending hearing is equivalent to contempt of court,' Bhagwagar added.

Shiney, who has worked in movies like 'Hazaaron Kwhaishein Aisi', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Gangster - A Love Story', is expected to make a comeback with releases like 'Ek Accident', 'Ghost' and 'Chaloo Movie'.

malluangel, you contradict yourself, my friend. He was drunk, that is the start and end of the story. As I said before, salman's case=accident. And yet he got punished for it.. who told you he got away with it? Hello? Are you saying he should've been hung for the accident? Noone gets behind the wheel to kill people, he was drunk, he had to get home, he had to drive. He made a mistake, he shouldn't have been drinking and driving, but a lot of people do that, too bad he was unlucky that day. Yet he got punished by the court. Let's not lie to ourselves. Being a fan of some star doesn't give you permission to leave your brains in the dumpster. It was plain and simple that Salman used his star power to get away with a crime. All the so called big stars do. Shiney was still a rising star when this accusation got slapped on him.

It's not up to me to decide whether or not Shiney's guilty, I can't logically do that. But Salman willingly got behind the wheel of a car while he was drunk. There's no excuse to that CHOICE that he MADE. And because of his choice, people are dead.

Noone cares, of course, because those people weren't important, right? Salman Khan just struts around singing songs and showing off his body and all of a sudden he can do no wrong.The man is a hypocrite. He got away with murder, now he walks around with Being Human trying to prove how great of a person he is. That would be called guilt.
If a normal man had been the one to get behind that wheel you can bet your life that he would be rotting in prison and not flying around the world shooting movies glorifying his so called "masculine appeal."

Like the people before me, I'm not saying Rape and Murder are the same thing, but at the same time, there's a difference between unintended murder during self defense and unintended murder after you make a stupid choice. Then, it's most definitely on you.

The acts by Salman and Shiney cant be compared.
Accidental deaths due to rash driving comes under Non-deliberate homicide( in IPC)
These are not considered as preplanned murder.So I think it will be irrelevant to use the word 'killing'

While rape is other sort of crime.
It is not under nondeliberate crimes.
According to me raping a girl is worse than killing a girl.(my POV)<br/>
WhileShiney returning to films is good, everyone needs a chance to repent on their mistakes. Everyone has the right to live and practise their profession.<br/>

Stop it, know your facts before butting in about any other actor here. Shiney freaking raped a woman, he did it on purpose, rape can NEVER be accidental. On the other hand, your big mighty voice is claiming that salman khan killed somebody. Do you know the difference between ACCIDENT and MURDER? Why would Salman khan, or ANYONE, for that matter, kill a random person sitting on a pavement? (yep, thats the one who died) Plus injure two other random pedestrians in the process? And also run into a bakery? Excuse me, Miss Gupta, all that equates to an ACCIDENT. He didn't murder anybody. He didn't intend to hurt anybody. He was prolly drunk driving, as do many celebrities. Absolutely i agree with u . I also feel if he is really guilty then he should be punished ..same goes for SALMAN KHAN .. What i meant to say is just because SALMAN KHAN is bigger name so he can get away from law , but as Shiney is an outsider or rather not so big star .. I MEAN it should be equal and obviously Being a girl i feel rape is the worst thing for a girl

I am not a supporter of Salman or shiney bt PiaSenGupta u cannot at all compare the two acts. In my opinion they both deserve the same level of punishment! Its sick if anybody gets away with any of them.
