Irrfan Khan who is currently receiving treatment for his cancer is on a road to recovery. In March 2018, he had announced that he has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor and immediately flew to the UK to receive treatment for the same.

"The unexpected makes us grow, which is what the past few days have been about. Learning that I have been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour as of now has admittedly been difficult, but the love and strength of those around me and that I found within me has brought me to a place of hope," his statement read.

The actor who had been keeping a low profile and maintaining a distance from the media by hiding his face behind a mask, finally faced the shutterbugs on Tuesday as he was spotted outside the airport in Mumbai.

Irrfan was spotted at Mumbai airport in the early hours of Tuesday. The lower half of his face was first covered with a black mask, but he later removed it for the paparazzi.

The "Piku" actor, who returned to India earlier this year after getting treated for neuroendocrine tumourat London, looked in the pink of health in a pink t-shirt which he teamed up with a floral print shirt and denim jeans.

"Irrfan was leaving for Rajasthan for personal work," a source in the know told IANS.

A few days back, for the first time post he flew to London to receive treatment, he was spotted at the Mumbai airport. But, at that time he was seen avoiding paparazzi as he chose to hide his face with a muffler. He was spotted wearing a pink jacket and camouflage pants.

There has been a buzz that Irrfan will soon start shooting for the sequel to his 2017 film "Hindi Medium", opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in London.

Director- producer Tigmanshu Dhulia, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle was quoted saying, "I did meet him after he returned to India. He is perfectly fine now. Irrfan told me that he will begin shooting for Hindi Medium franchise soon."

About working with Irrfan, he added, "We will do a film soon. Actually, we were in the process of writing one for him. Probably, if everything goes well, we shall be making the film soon."
