"There were days when we were pelted stones" Aijaz Khan

Bollywood filmmaker Aijaz Khan's Hamid has hit the theaters and we are already loving the movie. The film features a story of a little boy who thinks 786 as Allah's number and he tries to contact the number. One day his phone call is answered by a CRPF Jawan, who gets involved in the young boy's life. The film also stars Rasika Duggal and Vikas Kumar in a pivotal role. 

With the recent Bollywood release - Hamid, the director took immense efforts during the making of this film. He mentioned, the film was fully filmed in Kashmir and he went through good as well as bad experiences. He also mentions at times they were pelted with stones but, the whole team of Hamid was also offered, with local delicacies by the people.

"Kashmiris are such nice human beings they are very sweet and welcoming. But nevertheless, there are people who want to create problems. So there were days where we were pelted stones. The entire unit would run away as soon as we would hear the noise of stones falling on our roofs."

The filmmaker was quizzed about the idea behind the film, to which he said, "I was in search of an idea after my second film, and which isn't happening and a friend called up from Shrinagar, as he saw a play where it talked about a boy to contacts the number 786 which connects to the god and that's all that he told and I completely got hooked on to the story. My inspiration was the content and I jumped at it." 

He added, "I have full faith in religion. I practice my religion and I am proud of it. I wish I could speak to God. Communal conflict doesn't happen because of the belief in God. It happens because of the fundamentalists and they are in every religion and they cause a problem.

"I wish there were a few people who had called me and had said 'How can you let a man say he is God? That's blasphemy.' I would have said there is nothing like that."
