Shweta Bachchan on apprehensions about daughter Navya joining showbiz

The latest episode of Karan Johar's celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan Season 6 saw the Bachchan siblings, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda, sipping Koffee on the fable couch. And we must say, it was a fun-filled episode with the two sharing their childhood memories and giving us major sibling goals.

In one segment of the two, Shweta was questioned as to why she has kept her daughter Navya Naveli Nanda away from the showbiz in the time when other celeb kids like Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor are making their Bollywood debuts. Hearing this, Shweta admitted that she had her own selfish reasons and the fear of failure to keep her daughter from entering films. "I was unfair, I thought selfishly... One of the bonuses of coming from a family that's in the movies, I know the heartbreak. I see their faces when things don't work out. I am on Instagram and I see the hate that he (Abhishek) gets... I have had sleepless nights and I don't want another member of the family entering the industry, for selfish reasons," she added.

Well, that something that every parent must be worried about and Shweta is no different.

Furthermore, she maintained that she doesn't know if her 21-year-old daughter has it in her what it takes to be an actor and said that Navya should be totally "driven and passionate" if she wishes to join films. "I don't know what Navya's talent is. I feel, unless she's completely driven, passionate and talented, she has no business being here. Just because she's related to some famous people doesn't mean she has what it takes," Shweta said on the show

Now if Navya makes joins Bollywood or not, is still left to be seen. Till then, let's all swoon over her fabulous pictures on Instagram.
