Manish Malhotra Busts Fashion Myths on 'What Women Want with Kareena Kapoor Khan'

Kareena Kapoor Khan, whose fashion sense and style has inspired so many young girls around the world, is raising the bar as a Radio Jockey on the show 'What Women Want with Kareena Kapoor Khan' which airs on Ishq 104.8 FM.

The show which had well-known celebrities from B-town and the industry, like Sunny Leone, Mallika Dua, Gauri Shinde, Masaba Gupta among others, bring out the stories of these passionate and highly-individualistic women who have shattered all barriers and stereotypes. Adding to this long list is Manish Malhotra, a dear friend of the superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The duo discussed a few must-follow rules that all girls should know about, the many misconceptions when it comes to dressing and presenting themselves, fashion understanding, and how Manish decides what dress fits which body type and much more.

When asked by Kareena about the guidelines that the ladies should adhere to stay trendy and in vogue, Manish said, "Today's generation is really clear about their personalities. I think they know what they want, who they want to be and what they want to wear.

And if they want to follow any rule, that should be - Be yourself and keep your personality out there. Secondly, fashion changes every season, style doesn't. So, your style should evolve with the times and keep changing."

When questioned about misconceptions regarding dressing, the renowned fashion designer said, "Well it's kind of sad when people turn up to me having these misconceptions regarding what they wear in terms of whether a particular outfit will go well with their skin color or not. Clothes are about carriage irrespective of other factors like height, weight, and complexion. It's all about how happy you are wearing it and the way you carry it."

Speaking on 'What should girls follow to better understand the fashion', he said, "There is so much change that social media has brought when it comes to fashion. There are young girls who know what they want.

In fact, we can learn a lot from them. But what one can do to get a much better understanding of fashion is to stay in with the times. And, to keep in trend is, to be observant. What's going on in the market and most importantly, know whether it suits you or not even if it's in the trend."

"I started my career with films and got into mainstream later. I have got the opportunity to work with different actors, learnt so much and experimented. I think my journey in films helped me to gain that understanding what works on whom and how the fit should be," said Manish when asked how he decides what dress fit which body and how he managed to style it differently every time.
