Priyanka Chopra and
Nick Jonas were the news makers last week. Their lavish wedding was the talk around the globe and people were smitten with the pictures they shared afterwards. Amongst all the congratulatory articles doing the rounds, there was one which hurt the sentiments of many.
It was published by 'The Cut' and in the article the author had called Priyanka a scam artist as she had tricked Nick into marrying her. Just as the article surfaced on the internet, it started receiving backlash. Fans, Twitterati, media and even Nick's side of the family bashed the article.
Now the author, Mariah Smith has posted on Twitter apologizing for hurting the sentiments.
"I sincerely apologize to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and to the readers I offended and hurt with my words. I do not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism. I take full responsibility for what I wrote and I was wrong, I am truly sorry," Mariah tweeted.
